Division of Human Genetics

Welcome to the Division of Human Genetics. We are a division within the Department of Genetics in Washington University School of Medicine. The division is jointly directed by Dr. Anne Bowcock and Dr. Michael Lovett. The division's faculty come from diverse scientific disciplines and several different academic departments. Their research interests cover most areas of contemporary human and mammalian genetics. Specific research interests can be accessed by clicking on the names in the column to the left.

Core facilities within the division include:

  • Sequenom Core, which uses the Sequenom mass array spectrometry system for high performance SNP genotyping and quantitative DNA methylation analysis. This core is available for use by Washington University investigators. Please click here if you wish to find out more about this facility.
  • Custom microarray facility. We do not normally solicit outside microarray projects, but refer parties to a much larger facility at the Washington University Genome Sequencing Center. However, if you are interested in our custom transcription factor microarray, click here or see this PDF file.
  • Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) imaging facility for the detection and molecular cloning of chromosomal rearrangements. This facility is also normally for use only by investigators within the division.

The Division also runs a Human Genetics Journal Club. If you would like more information on this please contact makin@genetics.wustl.edu .
